Another good start to the day trading week. AAPL was too volatile, dropping $15+ in pre-market. My focus shifted to NFLX again. Missed the first opportunity at 9.34am when it reversed towards uptrend. Boy, it soared, in fact too high when my signals picked up a downtrend reversal. Happily clicked the execution button to shoot my prey, and down it went.

Read an article somewhere and a quote in the article, “Luck is when preparation meets opportunity”. This trade appeared that way to me. I was preparing to open a trade, of course, with my knowledge and skill and experience in options trading, and opportunity came. I opened the position near low before the uptrend reversal. Luck then came when I exited at high before another downtrend reversal. Very seldom that I bought at the lows and sold at the highs. This is a rare day trading feat for me!

Both $DJI and NFLX were on declining trend when I opened the position. I was a bit “fortunate” at exit point as it was only the first red candlestick bar when I exited. Prices moved fore and back but not hitting my limit price set at $1.05. The highest was $1.03, downed to $0.98 and backed up to $1.03 a couple of time. Got a bit irritated and exited at the first red candlestick bar. I was fortunate that within 5-10 seconds after I exited, it formed a long green candle. Was it luck? May be not. Remembered a quote, “Amateurs chase gains, professional traders control risk.” ROFL, I am moving towards the latter.

I always blog about point of entry on my day trading, let’s talk about exit point today. I exited when my profit target was met while NFLX was on a uptrend at 9:48am. The options price held almost steady after that at the region of $1.80. I could have held on, but targets in my trading plan for the day was met. This time, I controlled my emotion and stuck with my trading plan. In addition, I knew there would an announcement looming at 10am. I didn’t want to hold past 10am as I knew it would be a gamble on the outcome of the announcement. Furthermore, the spread of the options prices tend to be huge right before the announcement. About 10-20 seconds before 10am, the bid/ask price was 1.80/2.00. Of course, the economic data that came out exceeded market expectations and market just shot up, as did NFLX and its options price was high at $2.18, that’s easily $180 opportunity gain lost! I could have banged myself for not letting profit to run, but I felt I made the right decision to take profit and stuck to my trading plan! Amateur is as amateur does, huh? Humour me….

Thought I saw a reverse signal at entry point, and yet again it followed by another red candlestick bar, deja vu! Opened another 5 contracts when it bottomed out. Uptrend thereafter and exit after hitting profit target. Cool $127 gain on options trading NFLX yet again.

Reason to enter trade:

NFLX chart signal was again very clear at point of entry. Watched the chart, eyes like a hawk and waited sinfully for the signal. The moment the candlestick bar turned red, clicked the mouse and in I went. Day trading, 2 mins, 10 contracts, $242 gain on NFLX.

Waited for quite some time for BIDU to reach bottom for day trading this counter. Saw the first signal of reversal at point of entry only to see it bottomed down further on the next candle. ROFL, constipated and bought 2 more contracts while it reversed. Did not cut loss as stop loss not hit. It eventually moved uptrend and exited at profit target.

Having a good run..should I increase stake?

Look at back the over the couple of days, I notice that my binary options trading are recording more wins. Win/loss ratio is reasonable high. What do you think? Should I increase my stake from my usual $30 per trade to maybe $100? Let me pinch your thoughts! Please leave comments.

full time traderSome really nice gain in terms of win/loss ratio and monetary values. Really took serious time to look at the chart signals and reinforce mental condition after suffering last night losses. Anyway, got to treat every trade as a a new trade and don’t let emotions come into play.
